Through the first twenty minutes of play, the Friars held a 1-0 lead against the Martlets. Senior Rebecca Morse (Westfield, N.J.) put Providence ahead at 15:08 of the period when she capitalized on the power play. Providence would score one last time before the end of regulation when freshman Brittney Thunstrom (Coon Rapids, Minn.) made a nice play while driving to the net before putting the puck past Weckham.
