Cambridge, Mass. - No. 1 Boston College (26-0-1, 17-0-0 WHEA) advances to its 15th Beanpot Championship game with a 3-1 win over Northeastern (8-13-4, 7-8-1 WHEA) on Tuesday night. Junior forward Haley Skarupa netted her sixth game-winning goal of the season in the second period to give the Eagles their 24th straight win in come-from-behind fashion.

Boston College controlled the tempo from the start of the first period, piling on 15 shots against Northeastern goaltender Chloe Desjardins. Desjardins came up with saves on all 15 BC shots, keeping the Maroon & Gold out of the net in the opening frame. BC and Northeastern headed into the first intermission knotted up at zeros.

The Huskies were the first to strike eight minutes into the second period. Freshman forward McKenna Brand's seventh goal of the put Northeastern ahead of he Eagles, 1-0.

Boston College fought back from its one-goal deficit the remainder of the middle frame. The Eagles finally capitalized during a four-on-four situation late in the period while Northeastern's Heather Mottau and BC's Megan Keller both took a seat for roughing.

Senior forward Emily Field drove home the equalizing slap shot from the right circle to tie the game up at one goal apiece heading into the second intermission.

The Eagles and Huskies traded dangerous chances in back and forth action the first half of the final period, but Haley Skarupa gave Boston College the edge it needed to push past Northeastern.

Skarupa notched the go-ahead goal with a top shelf finish from the slot to move the Eagles ahead, 2-1, with 8:30 left to play.

Northeastern pulled Desjardins with under a minute to play for a man advantage. Sophomore forward Andie Anastos sealed the Eagle win on an empty-netter with 24.6 on the clock.
