PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island-The University of Maine Women's ice hockey team closed its two game road trip with a 5-3 loss against Brown University at Meehan Auditorium Saturday afternoon. Maine falls to 4-7-2 on the season, while Brown improves to 3-4-0.

Audra Richards (Maplewood, Minnesota) beat Julianne Landry at 00:25 in the first period for an assist goal.

Emilie Brigham (Anoka, Minnesota) gave Maine a 2-0 lead when she scored at 2:15. Morgan Sakundiak (Calgary, Alberta) had the assist on the goal.

Sakundiak followed up her assist with a Power Play goal at 6:59 in the first period, making the score 3-0. Kelsey MacSorley (Stratford, Ontario) and Brooklyn Langlois (Steinbach, Manitoba) each, respectively, were credited with an assist.

Sarah Robson scored an assisted goal at 9:46 to pull the Bears within two.

Brown climbed to within one with a goal from Kaitlyn Keon at 5:10 in the second period. Sarah Robson and Catherin LeBoeuf both assisted on the play.

Keon scored on the power play at 9:51 to even the score, 3-3. Erin Conway and Kelly Micholson each had an assist.

Sam Donovan added another power play goal at 1:28 of the third period to give Brown the 4-3 lead. Maddie Woo and Samantha Swanstrom assisted on the scoring play.

Sarah Robson secured the 5-3 win at 19:51 with an empty net goal. Janice Yang had the only assist.

Mariah Fujimagari (Markham, Ontario) saved 14 of 18 shots on goal, while Monica Elvin saved 27 of 27 shots on goal after taking the place of Julianne Landry, who saved 5 of 8 shots on goal. The Black Bears were one for three on the power play, and Brown had two goals in three opportunities.

The Black Bears return to action November 22 at the Alfond Arena against Providence College. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
