ORONO, Maine-The University of Maine Women's Ice Hockey team opened its home stand with a 3-0 loss against #6 Boston University at Alfond Arena Friday afternoon. Maine falls to 2-5-1 on the season, while Boston University improves to 4-0-1.

Meghann Treacy (Lake Peakskill, New York) and Victoria Hanson kept the game scoreless through the first period despite 19 combined shots on goal.

Marie-Philip Poulin broke the tie with a goal off a rebound at 0:28 in the second period. Sarah Lefort and Shannon Doyle each had an assist on Poulin's fifth goal of the season.

Victoria Bach tipped home a goal at 12:54 to put the Terriers up 2-0. Lillian Ribeirinha-Braga chipped in with an assist.

Sarah Lefort added an assisted third goal at 8:30 in the third period.

Treacy finished the game with 27 saves for the Black Bears. Hanson finished with 20 for Boston University, and freshman Erin O'Neil stopped four shots while playing the final 13:01 for the Terriers. Each team was 0-3 on the power play.

Maine returns to action at Alfond Arena on Saturday October 25th against Boston University. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
