HAMPDEN, Connecticut-The University of Maine Women's Ice Hockey team closed its road trip with a 1-0 loss against #9 Quinnipiac at High Point Solutions Arena Saturday afternoon. Maine falls to 2-4-1 on the season, while Quinnipiac improves to 4-0-1.

Meghann Treacy (Lake Peakskill, New York) and Chelsea Laden kept the game scoreless through the first two periods despite 33 combined shots on goal.

Taylar Cianfarano broke the tie with a goal at 5:02 in the third period. Morgan Fritz-Ward assisted on the play. It was Cianfarano's fifth goal of the season.

Nicole Connery added an empty net goal while on the power play at 19:32. Kristen Tamberg was credited with the assist.

Treacy finished the game with 41 saves, where Laden finished with seven. It was Chelsea Laden's four straight shut out. The Black Bears were 0-3 on the power play, while the Bobcats finished 1-3.

Maine returns to action at Alfond Arena on Friday October 24th. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
