SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team lost 2-0 to Union College at Messa Rink Friday evening. Maine falls to 7-10-2 on the season, while Union College improves to 4-11-2.

Meghann Treacy (Lake Peakskill, New York) saved all 17 shots seen throughout the first two periods, and Shenae Lundberg saved 14 of 14 shots on goal to keep the game scoreless through two periods.

The stalemate continued through the third period until Union took advantage of an open net. Jessica Kaminsky broke the tie in the third period with a goal at (11:40). Alex Tancrell-Fontaine had her shot saved by Meghann Treacy. The rebound found Kaminsky in front of the net, who punched home the rebound.

Nicole Russell added another goal for the Dutchwoman at (17:22) to give her time a 2-0 lead. Kathryn Tomaselli had the only assist on the play.

Jennifer More (Deloraine, Manitoba) had six shots on goal, and Brittney Huneke (Hastings, Minnesota) saw all four of her shots saved. Kelsey MacSorley (Stratford, Ontario) missed her second straight game for the Black Bears.

Meghann Treacy saved 25 of 27 shots on goal, and Shenae Lundberg saved 28 of 28 shots on goal. The Black Bears were 0-3 on the power play, while the Dutchwomen had zero goals in two opportunities.

The Black Bears return to action December 13th at Union College. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
