Orono, Maine-- The University of Maine Women's Hockey Team lost 3-1 to the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Friday, October 9th at 7pm.

Being outshot 42-17, the Black Bears could not pull out a win against the Bobcats. Meghann Treacy made 40 saves in net for Maine, while Quinnipiac goalie Sydney Rossman made a total of seventeen saves.

Quinnipiac got on the board first, with a goal nine minutes into the game by Cydney Roesler. Maine answered three minutes later with a goal from Catherine Tufts, off a pass from teammate Lydia Murray.

Quinnipiac went on to score two unanswered goals, for a 3-1 win. Their final goal was an empty net goal scored by Nicole Kofstra.

Maine will return home to play Quinnipiac tomorrow at 4pm in their second game of the series.
