BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team scored the final four goals of the game to erase a 3-1 third-period deficit and knock off No. 4 Boston College, 5-3, on Saturday afternoon at Walter Brown Arena.

TURNING POINT

- With 10:02 remaining in regulation, freshman Deziray De Sousa scored her first collegiate goal to break a 3-3 tie.

GOAL-BY-GOAL

- BC opened the scoring with a power-play marker 9:07 into the first period. Makenna Newkirk tipped home a Grace Bizal shot from the top of the zone.

- The Eagles took a 2-0 lead 1:25 into the second period with another power-play goa..

- A frantic third period began when junior Victoria Bach scored 40 seconds into the frame to make it a 2-1 BC lead.

- The Eagles made it 3-1 just 17 seconds later, but graduate student Mary Parker answered with a power-play goal at the 4:48 mark to once again cut the deficit to just a goal.

- Bach then notched her second of the day just over two minutes later to tie the game, 3-3.

- De Sousa's heroics capped a span of 4:10 in which the Terriers scored four times to take the lead for good.

- Junior Nina Rodgers added an empty-netter to seal the victory.

GAME NOTES

- Parker finished with four points thanks to a goal and a career-high three assists.

- Bach notched two goals for the second time in three games as pat of a three-point day.

- Junior Erin O'Neil was sharp once again between the pipes for BU, making 34 saves for the second straight day.

- Rodgers scored in both games against BC this weekend for her first two goals as a Terrier.

- Seniors Alexis Crossley and Sarah Steele each had two assists on Saturday - they also each assisted on a goal in Friday's game.

- Junior Rebecca Leslie also had a helper on Saturday in addition to an assist on Friday night.

- Senior Maddie Elia also added an assist on Saturday.

UP NEXT

- BU will trek to Orono, Maine for a weekend series with the Black Bears on Nov. 11 and 12.
