PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Reagan Rust notched her third goal of the season and senior Erin O'Neil made a season-high 41 saves as the Boston University women's ice hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie at Princeton on Sunday afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Princeton (5-9-4) opened the scoring at the 11:47 mark of the first frame when Kiersten Falck knocked home a loose puck as a scrum formed at the top of O'Neil's crease.

- Rust evened the score just 1:27 into the second stanza. Sophomore Natasza Tarnowski won an offensive-zone draw right back to Rust, who quickly wristed the puck past Steph Neatby (13 saves) for her third goal of the season.

- BU (7-10-4) successfully killed two penalties in the final frame to help preserve the draw.

O'NEIL WITH A STRONG OUTING

- O'Neil turned aside 41 of the 42 Princeton shots she faced on Sunday in her best statistical outing of the year.

- She last made over 40 saves on Dec. 10, 2016, when she stopped 44 shots in the Terriers' 6-5 win against Minnesota.

- O'Neil stopped the final 31 shots she saw during Sunday's contest.

RUST TO THE RESCUE

- Rust, normally stationed on the BU blue line, played this weekend as a forward.

- She had scored twice as a Terrier prior to Sunday's game, lighting the lamp against Merrimack on Sept. 23 and against RIT on Nov. 3.

- Rust now has three goals and eight assists for 11 points this season.

TARNOWSKI ADDS TO CAREER HIGH

- Tarnowski is in the midst of a career season.

- She secured her seventh assist of the year on Rust's second-period strike.

- After tallying just four assists and seven points as a freshman, Tarnowski has already totaled seven assists and nine points as a sophomore.

SEE YOU IN 2018

- The Terriers will open the 2018 calendar year on Jan. 6 when they begin a two-game series with Maine at Walter Brown Arena.
