DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire senior forward Carlee Toews (Grand Prairie, Alberta) scored her first two goals of the season, one of them the game winner against Dartmouth on Sunday, Oct. 22. The Wildcats defeated the Dartmouth Big Green 6-1.

Other goal scorers for the Wildcats were Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass) who tallied her second multi-point game of the season, and Grace Middleton (Midland, Mich.) who opened the game up with her first career goal. Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) tallied her second of the year and Julia Fedeski (Algonquin Highlands, Ontario) capped things off with her fourth power play goal of the season.

Freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) got the start in net for UNH; she stopped 21 shots, allowing only one goal, in the victory. Her record on the season is now 4-0-1.

GAME RECAP

- Middleton's goal came 10 minutes, 12 seconds into the first period as she skated on a 2-on-1 with Carlee Toews, who held the puck long enough to give Middleton a shot on the ride side, and dished it to her.

- 18 minutes into the first, Toews got her first goal, which would end up being the game-winner, as she tapped a rebound off of Dartmouth goaltender Christie Honor, and tucked the puck between her pads for the 2-0 lead.

- On the power play two minutes into the second period, Wenczkowski's goal was a quick shot over a cross-ice pass from Schlagel. Wecnzkowski beat the goaltender by a hair as Honor moved from left to right to try and cover the shot.

- Toews' second goal was another rebound that bounced right to her on the initial shot by Howran. Toews had a wide open net to work with on the rebound and buried it.

- The third period saw four UNH penalties with Dartmouth getting several scoring opportunities.

- 14:18 into the third period, Dartmouth was able to capitalize on a 5-on-3 power play. Caroline Shaunessy took a long shot from the point that just went over the shoulder of Boutilier, and Dartmouth was on the board, 4-1.

- Just 32 seconds later, still on a penalty kill, McManus scored the second UNH short-handed goal of the season. A long clear from the Wildcats landed at the goalie's stick, and McManus took it with speed around the back of the net for a wrap-around goal.

- To cap off the victory, the Wildcats found themselves on the power play for the remainder of regulation. McManus behind the net found Fedeski right next to the crease to the right of the goaltender, and just flicked it in for UNH's sixth goal of the game.
