HAMDEN, Conn. - After getting a 4-2 win on Friday night, the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team claimed victory on Saturday afternoon against Quinnipiac, taking the second game of the series 2-1.
Down by a goal in the first period, junior forward Devan Taylor (North Billerica, Mass.) tied the game back up 11 minutes into the period, just under three minutes after Quinnipiac's opening goal. Then in the second, senior captain Kate Haslett (Rothesay, New Brunswick) tipped a slapshot into the net to take the lead. The UNH defense held on for the 2-1 victory, shutting out Quinnipiac for the final two periods.
The 'Cats now return to Hockey East play, facing the Maine Black Bears in a two game series on Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3. Both games are at 2 P.M.

GAME RECAP
- The Bobcats once again struck first, this time getting a tally in the first period.
- Less than three minutes after the opening goal, Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) tried a wrap around chance but it went through the crease to Taylor, who buried it for the tie.
- The Wildcats came out firing in the second period, with a slapshot from Jenna Rheault (Deering N.H.) that was deflected in front by Haslett to give the Wildcats the lead.
