TROY, N.Y. - The University of New Hampshire women's hockey team tied with the Rensselaer Engineers on Saturday afternoon by a score of 1-1; Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) tallied the lone goal for the 'Cats six minutes into the first period. The goal was assisted by Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Marie-Jo Pelletier (Dalhousie, New Brunswick).

Freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) made 37 saves in the contest, including four in the overtime period to clinch the tie for the Wildcats. Her record is now 6-3-4 on the season.

The Engineers and the Wildcats will face off again on Sunday at 2 p.m.

GAME RECAP

The Wildcats struck early with Wenczkowski's goal six minutes, 56 seconds into the game, assisted by Turner and Pelletier. Turner crossed the puck cross-ice to Wenczkowski and buried a shot from the left faceoff dot.

UNH had a chance to add an insurance goal on a power play 14:19 into the second period, tallying three shots on goal during the power play, but the 'Cats were unable to capitalize.

RPI tied the game in the final three minutes of regulation on a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar behind Boutilier and into the net, tying the game at one all.

Rensselaer led in shots on goal in the overtime period, 4-2, but all four shots were stopped by Boutilier.
