Senior goaltender Brittany Bugalski made 26 saves for the Huskies

BOSTON - Senior goaltender Brittany Bugalski made 14 of her 26 saves in the third period to help the No. 8 Northeastern women's hockey team earn its fifth straight win with a 2-1 victory over Boston University on Sunday at Matthews Arena.

Sophomore Veronika Pettey extended her point-streak to eight straight games with a power-play goal in the first period, and senior Maddie Hartman scored the eventual game-winner early in the second stanza as the Huskies (6-1-1) improved to 5-0-1 in Hockey East play.

Freshman Alina Mueller also pushed her point-streak to seven games with an assist on Pettey's opener, while rookie Chloe Aurard dished out two assists for the second time in the last three games.

Northeastern killed off all four BU (1-3-3, 1-3-3 WHEA) power-plays and have now successfully negated 27 straight penalties dating back to Oct. 6 when the Huskies allowed their only power-play goal of the season to date.

Bugalski improved to 3-0-1 with the victory and lowered her GAA to 1.73 on the year.

The Huskies will travel to Vermont for a Tuesday tilt against the Catamounts at 7 p.m.
