Merrimack, UConn Skate to 2-2 Draw

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - After a statement win Friday night, the Merrimack College women's ice hockey program erased a two-goal deficit in the second period of Saturday afternoon's contest, tying Connecticut 2-2 in the regular season series finale. With the tie, Merrimack's point earned draws level with Providence for fourth place in Hockey East standings.

After a six goal loss Friday night, Connecticut came out firing in the first period. Danielle Fox lit the lamp for her first collegiate goal eight minutes into the first period, and Morgan Wabick doubled the visitors' lead just one minute later. After falling two goals down, Merrimack began its comeback early in the second. Freshman Gabby Jones hit the back of the net one minute into the frame, and senior Jessica Bonfe fired a laser from just outside the far faceoff circle to level the game eight minutes later.

Senior Samantha Ridgewell stood tall once again between the pipes, making 39 saves on the day.
