Frankel Ties Hockey East Shutout Record As Northeastern Downs Holy Cross, 8-0
Senior goaltender Aerin Frankel earned her 24th conference shutout for the Huskies

Worcester, Mass. - Chloe Aurard notched her season first hat trick, third of her career, while Aerin Frankel posted her fourth consecutive shutout, and seventh of the season, to lead No. 3 Northeastern (12-1-1 HEA) to an 8-0 win over Holy Cross (3-11-0 HEA) on Friday night at Hart Center Ice Rink. The Huskies are on a nation-best 12-game unbeaten streak (11-0-1) and have not allowed a goal in over 320 minutes, including a career-high 260:02 for Frankel.

Maureen Murphy, Skylar Fontaine, Katy Knoll and Peyton Anderson all tallied goals for the Huskies as NU outshout the Crusaders by an impressive, 46-17, margin. Alina Mueller added four helpers for the night while Brooke Hobson and Maureen Murphy each added two.

The Huskies scored just 43 seconds into the game and never looked back, limiting the Crusaders to just three shots in the opening 20 minutes and scoring three goals in each of the first two periods. Northeastern went a season-best 3-for-5 on the power play and nine different Huskies tallied points in the game.

After tonight's 17 saves, Frankel has now tied the Hockey East league record with 24 conference game shutout wins and is only one win away from topping her third record of the season. She and the Huskies will welcome Holy Cross inside Matthews Arena for a 3:30 p.m. puck drop tomorrow on NESN.
