HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
In the lone game of last week, New Hampshire toppled Holy Cross, 6-2, on Wednesday. Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) recorded her 2,000th career save with the ninth of her 11 saves in UNH’s 6-2 home win against Holy Cross last Wednesday, just the fourth Wildcat goaltender to do so. She ranks fourth on the program’s career leader board with 2,002 saves and was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts.
Rookie forward Nicole Kelly (Brantford, Ont.) scored her first career goal and finished with two goals to match her personal best of two points in UNH’s 6-2 home win against Holy Cross last Wednesday. She scored her two goals on four shots and also had a plus-two on-ice rating and was named Hockey East Player of the Week.
Fellow freshman forward Chavonne Truter (Uxbridge, Ont.) scored a career-
high two goals on three shots to propel UNH to a 6-2 home win against
Holy Cross on Dec. 23. It was her first career multiple-point game. She also
won a team-high 12 faceoffs, blocked two shots and had a plus-one rating.
Truter was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week.
