PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The No. 3 seeded Providence College women's hockey team defeated the no. 4 seeded University of Maine in the Hockey East Semifinal game on March 3 at Schneider Arena, 1-0, with an overtime goal by Hunter Barnett. This is Providence's first Hockey East Semifinal victory since 2012.

-The Black Bears outshot the Friars by a 31-22 margin over the first three periods.
-Hunter Barnett (Caledon, Ontario) scored the game-winning goal in overtime for the Friars, 2:10 into extra time. Giana Savastano (Mapleville, R.I.) tipped the puck to Barnett who put it past Porter. Claire Tyo (Massena, N.Y.) earned the secondary assist on the goal.
