Hockey East 2015-16 First-Team All-Stars

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Hockey East Association announced its 2015-16 All-Star teams, as voted by the league's 12 head coaches, Thursday night at the 32nd annual Hockey East Awards banquet ahead of the 2016 Hockey East Championship, March 18 and 19 at the TD Garden.

Both the All Hockey East First Team and All Hockey East Second Team boast seven honorees, with each squad featuring one goaltender, two defensemen, and four forwards. The first team includes Boston College junior goaltender Thatcher Demko (San Diego, Calif.), Boston University senior defenseman Matt Grzelcyk (Charlestown, Mass.), Providence sophomore defenseman Jake Walman (Toronto, Ont.), Boston College junior forward Ryan Fitzgerald (North Reading, Mass.), Providence College senior forward Mark Jankowski (Dundas, Ont.), Boston University forward Danny O'Regan (Needham, Mass.) and New Hampshire sophomore forward Andrew Poturalski (Williamsville, N.Y.).

Hockey East's Second Team All-Stars include UMass Lowell senior goaltender Kevin Boyle (Manalapan, N.J.), Notre Dame sophomore defenseman Jordan Gross (Maple Grove, Minn.), Boston College junior defenseman Ian McCoshen (Faribault, Minn.), Northeastern junior forward Zach Aston-Reese (Staten Island, N.Y.), Notre Dame sophomore forward Anders Bjork (Mequon, Wis.), UConn freshman forward Max Letunov (Moscow, Russia) and Boston College freshman forward Colin White (Hanover, Mass.)

Recognized as Hockey East All-Star Honorable Mentions were Providence junior goaltender Nick Ellis (Millersville, Md.), Notre Dame sophomore goaltender Cal Petersen (Waterloo, Iowa), UMass Lowell junior defenseman Dylan Zink (Madison, Wis.), Boston College junior forward Austin Cangelosi (Estero, Fla.), Notre Dame senior forward Thomas DiPauli (Caldero, Italy), New Hampshire junior forward Tyler Kelleher (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Boston University senior Ahti Oksanen (Kirkkonummi, Finland) and Northeastern sophomore forward Nolan Stevens (Sea Isle City, N.J.).

Providence, UMass Lowell, Boston College, and Northeastern are set to face off in the Hockey East semifinals Friday (March 18) at TD Garden at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The winners will advance to the 32nd annual Hockey East championship Saturday night (March 19). Across New England, the New England Sports Network will produce and air the Hockey East championship weekend from TD Garden once again. The first semifinal will game will be shown on NESN in its entirety beginning at 5 p.m., while the second semifinal begins at 8 p.m. on NESN and NESNplus before moving exclusively to NESNplus at 9 p.m. The title game is set to be played at 7 p.m. Saturday night and shown on NESN.

Across the country, NBCSN will also show all three games in over eight hours of coverage on the weekend.
