NORTH ANDOVER, MA. - Vermont goaltender Joe Fallon made 29 saves as the Catamounts edged Merrimack 2-1 Saturday night at the Lawler Arena.

After Peter Lenes scored on a power-play 5:34 into the first period, Pat Kimball (Framingham, MA) put the Warriors on the board with time ticking down in the first as he blasted a shot from in between the circles past Fallon for his first of the season.

Kimball's goal at 19:55, the third goal Merrimack has scored in the final seconds of a period, was assisted by J.C. Robitaille (Des Ruisseaux, Quebec) and Bobby Kramer (New York, NY).

Brayden Irwin got the game-winner with both teams skating four aside midway through the second period. It was Irwin's third goal and assisted by Slavomir Tomko and Viktor Stalberg.

The Warriors, after tallying 15 first-period shots, managed just 15 more in the final two periods. Matt Jones (Kentwood, MI), who saw his four-game point streak snapped, posted eight shots, including one that was stopped by Fallonís skate with just under three minutes to play.

After stopping 41 shots Friday, Pat Watson (Waltham, MA) had another solid performance, stopping 19 shots.

Merrimack (4-4-1, 1-4-1 HEA) continues its four-game homestand when they host Maine next Friday and Saturday night at Lawler Arena with both games starting at 7 p.m.
