Drobot Scores Twice As Maine Defeats UConn, 6-4
Sophomore forward AJ Drobot scored two goals for the Black Bears

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Maine men's ice hockey team pulled off a 6-4 win at UConn on Friday night, their third win on unfriendly ice in a season-long road trip.

Maine's six goals are their most this season, as they eclipsed six goals three times in 2019-20. Victor Ostman continued to shine in net, making 40 saves before exiting the game after losing his skate blade and tweaking his lower body in the process. According to Red Gendron post-game, "He's fine, he just had some cramps." Matthew Thiessen came in off the bench and made eight saves in six minutes to help close out the victory. AJ Drobot had Maine's first and last goals, joined on the scorer's sheet by Ben Poisson, JD Greenway, Brady Gaudette, and Jack Quinlivan, who scored on a penalty shot in the second period.

The win raises Maine's record to 3-9-1 this year and will help the Black Bear's in the omnipresent Hockey East Power-Index rankings after taking down the Huskies who were sitting in fourth place in the conference entering the day.

The two teams will square off again tomorrow, with another 4:00 puck drop in Storrs.
