UCONN AND BOSTON UNIVERSITY SKATE TO 2-2 TIE

STORRS, Conn. (November 19, 2006) - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team played Boston University to a 2-2 tie on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Mark. E. Freitas Ice Forum in Storrs, Conn.

The first goal of the game didn't come until senior Natalie Vibert (Thunder Bay, Ont.) flew down the ice and found the back of the net at 3:37 in the second period for UConn (9-4-1, 6-1-1 HE). Vibert scored off assists from both freshman Amy Hollstein (Pembroke, Mass.) and junior Liz Gallinaro (Amherst, Mass.)

The Terriers (7-4-1, 3-4-1, HE) responded with a goal from Caroline Bourdeau off a pass from Julie Poulin. Six minutes later, BU capitalized on a power play with Cara Hendry being credited with the goal as she was assisted by Jonnie Bloemers and Sarah Russell.

In the third period, freshman Dominique Thibault (L'Original, Ont.) would score the game-tying goal at 9:14 off a dish from sophomore Nicole Tritter (Toronto, Ont.) and sophomore Kristen Russell (Dauphin, Ont.).

Sophomore Brittany Wilson (Nepean, Ont.) recorded 28 saves in net on the day.

The Huskies enjoy some time off before hitting the road to take on Boston College on December 2 at 2 p.m. in Boston, Mass.
