Genevieve Turgeon made 23 saves for the Black Bears

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Sophomore Kristen Olychuck (Kelowna, British Columbia) stopped 21 shots to help Vermont earn a 0-0 tie against Maine in a women's Hockey East game Saturday afternoon at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Catamounts are now 4-7-1 overall on the season as they earn their first point in league play (0-4-1).

Vermont held a 23-21 edge in shots for the game as Maine (1-12-2, 0-4-2 Hockey East) goalie Genevieve Turgeon stopped all 23 shots she faced.

The Catamounts had two great breakaway opportunities in the third period but were denied on both occasions by Turgeon.

Vermont next weekend is at Northeastern, Saturday at 7:00pm and Boston University, Sunday at 3:00PM. UVM's next home games are against Clarkson, January 5-6, 2008 at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
