Nadeau And Taber Earn HCA Monthly Honors For December

A veteran women’s Olympian from Princeton and a rookie who is part of a talented brother tandem at Maine lead the monthly honors for December, as chosen by the Hockey Commissioners Association.


Women’s Player of the Month: Sarah Fillier SR Forward, Princeton (Georgetown, ON)

Fillier had the goal scorer’s touch in December, scoring seven goals in just four games, her total line being 7-2-9.

Men’s Player of the Month: Josh Nadeau FR Forward, Maine (St-François-de-Madawaska, NB)

Nadeau averaged two points per game with his 6-6-12 line in six games played for the red hot Black Bears (6-0-0 in December). Among the month’s highlights: a hat trick in a 5-2 win over UNH to start the month and a pair of goals in a 3-2 win over Bentley.

Women’s Rookie of the Month: Sam Taber FR Forward, Boston College (Tewksbury, MA)

Women’s Rookie of the Month Sam Taber FR Forward, Boston College (Tewksbury, MA) Played in just three games but averaged nearly three points per game (2.67), going 2-6-8 and leading the Eagles to a 2-0-1 record on the month.

Men’s Rookie of the Month: Alfred Lindberg FR Forward, AIC (Hallsberg, Sweden)

Lindberg led all freshmen with 13 points in December. He went 6-7-13, good for 1.86 PPG, He had at least one point in each game and finished with six points in road wins at Canisius and Lowell.

Women’s Co-Goaltender of the Month: Sanni Ahola SR Goalie, St. Cloud State (Helsinki, Finland)

Top HCA goalie for the second time, Ahola was 2-0-1, includ- ing a 46 save performance in the Huskies’ 2-1 victory over #1 Ohio State. Her save percentage was .973 and her GAA was 0.97.


Women’s Co-Goaltender of the Month: Josie Bothun SR Goalie, Penn State (Wyoming, MN)

Bothun backstopped PSU to a 3-1-0 record and finished the month with a 1.26 goals-against average and a .954 save percentage. She picked up a win against Yale, allowing four goals in a two-game split.


Men’s Goaltender of the Month: Kyle McClellan SR Goalie, Wisconsin (Manchester, MO)

McClellan recorded three shutouts in five games in the month of December. Included in that trio were back-to-back 3-0 shut- outs in the Kwik Trip Holiday Faceoff in Milwaukee. Overall, he stopped 130 of 134 shots in a 5-0-0 month. His GAA was 0.80 and his save percentage was .970.
