CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - No. 7 Boston College posted a 4-1 victory over reigning Atlantic Hockey champion and 20th-ranked in exhibition action on Saturday afternoon at Kelley Rink. Senior Jack McBain led the Eagles with three points on a goal and two assists.
Colby Ambrosio wasted no time by opening the scoring just 54 seconds into the first period on a one-timer in front with assists from graduate transfer Brandon Kruse and McBain.
The Eagles doubled their lead near the end of the second period when McBain finished off a 2-on-0 rush in tight with fellow senior Casey Carreau.
AIC drew a goal back on a rebound from Justin Cole 2:21 into the third, but rookie Aidan Hreschuk sniped the top right corner following a toe drag midway through the frame to restore the two-goal advantage.
Sophomore Nikita Nesterenko capped off the scoring and sealed the win with 3:05 left in regulation on a centering pass from Trevor Kuntar.
Graduate transfer Eric Dop (7 saves), sophomore Henry Wilder (14) and junior Jack Moffatt (7) each played a period in net and allowed just one goal on 29 shots.
BC out-shot AIC 33-29 on the afternoon and the teams combined to go 0-for-8 on the power play.
