Notes

- The Mavericks broke the ice first at 13:27 of the first period as Reggie Lutz capitalized off a turnover behind the Friars' net.

- Brett Berard responded just 39 seconds later a power-play goal, his fourth tally of the season to even the game at 1-1. Nick Poisson and Michael Callahan assisted on the play.

- Ryan Sandelin regained the lead for Minnesota State with 90 seconds to play in the opening period.

- At the conclusion of the period, Berard was assessed a five-minute major and game misconduct for slashing.

- Kohen Olischefski evened things up again with a backhander under the crossbar during a 4-on-4 situation at 1:38 of the second period. Strong efforts by Matt Koopman and Davis Bunz gave Olischefski and clean look at the bottom left circle.

- Nathan Smith gave the Mavericks a 3-2 lead at 11:10, converting on a cross-ice feed from Julian Napravnik.

- Lutz put two on the board in the final period, completing a hat-trick on the night and sealing a 5-2 win for the Mavericks.
