CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - No. 10 Boston College rebounded from a pair of losses with a 5-1 victory over eighth-ranked Denver on Saturday night at Kelley Rink to move back above .500 at 3-2-1 overall.

Drew Helleson (1-2-3) and Jack McBain (1-1-2) each had goals as part of multi-point performances, while linemates Marc McLaughlin and Colby Ambrosio posted a pair of assists.

Graduate student Eric Dop stopped 26 of the 27 Denver shots he faced for his second win as an Eagle.

Helleson opened the scoring at 4:03 of the second period, fluttering a shot off Matt Davis' left shoulder through traffic from the center point. McLaughlin won the faceoff cleanly to Ambrosio for the two assists on Helleson's first of the year.

The Eagles doubled their lead late in the middle frame following a wild scramble in front of the Denver net. A loose puck came out to the left wing half boards for Ambrosio, who kicked a pass into the slot with his left skate for Trevor Kuntar to bury low glove side.

The Pioneers (4-2-0) pulled back within a goal two minutes into the third when Ryan Barrow deflected a Brett Stapley shot above Dop's glove.

McBain restored the two-goal cushion with six minutes remaining on the power play as he followed a Helleson point shot by batting the puck out of mid-air to beat Davis.

Marshall Warren banked home an empty-netter with 2:18 left and Nikita Nesterenko registered his third goal of the weekend to cap the scoring.

Boston College travels north to Burlington for a two-game series against Vermont next weekend on Oct. 29-30 at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
