BOSTON- Powered by a natural hat trick and a four-point outing from senior Chloe Aurard, the No. 3 Northeastern women's hockey team skated past Merrimack, 8-0.
- Alina Mueller struck just 35 seconds into the game to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead in their first outing since Dec. 5, 2021. Her linemates, Chloe Aurard and Maureen Murphy.
- Mueller then potted her second goal of the day on the power play to give Northeastern a 2-0 lead in the first, taking the puck coast-to-coast with a helper from goaltender Aerin Frankel.
- Miceala Sindoris tallied her first goal of the season with assists from Skylar Fontaine and Katie Cipra to start the second period scoring.
- Brown followed up Sindoris' goal just 39 seconds later to push the score to 4-0 in favor of the Huskies. Molly Griffin and Sindoris assisted the goal.
- Aurard started off what would become a natural hat trick with a power play goal at the 16:01 mark to close out the second period of scoring. Mueller and Fontaine assisted Aurard's goal.
- Aurard started the third period with a shorthanded goal and then added on another tally to bring the score to 7-0. Mueller and Megan Carter assisted on Aurard's third goal of the day.
- Skylar Irving closed out the scoring with a power play tally with just 21 seconds left to go to bring the final score to 8-0. Carter added on an assist and Frankel tallied her second assist of the game.
Northeastern will close out its home-and-home series with Merrimack on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. in North Andover at Lawler Rink.
