STORRS, Conn. - The UConn Huskies beat Union College 4-1 in their Home Opener to improve to 3-0 on the season. UConn sophomore Chase Bradley finished with one goal and one assist for the Huskies in the win.

UConn outshot the Dutchmen 37-16 and finished the evening 2-2 on the penalty kill. UConn has now won back-to-back games against Union College and has scored three or more goals in every game to start the season.

The Huskies opened the scoring when Ryan Tverberg would use his speed and skill to skate past the Dutchmen defense creating space before wrapping around behind the net and feeding Hudson Schandor for the goal. UConn's defense and goaltender Logan Terness would continue to dominate allowing only six shots in the period and holding the Dutchmen scoreless.

The Huskies would not let up in the second period. The Huskies would continue to pressure the Dutchmen defense creating opportunities for the offense. UConn would extend their lead in the second period when a shot by Chase Bradley would be deflected in air by Nick Capone for the goal. Following the Capone goal, Union would cut into the Huskies lead when the Dutchmen would steal the puck in the Huskies zone and fire a shot that would sneak past Terness. UConn would respond with a goal of their own when freshman Jake Percival would steal the puck in the Union zone and fire a shot bar down to give the Huskies a two-goal lead, his first as a Husky.

UConn would tack on an empty net goal courtesy of Chase Bradley to seal the victory for UConn and improve to 3-0 on the season.

UConn will be back in action tomorrow, Oct. 8 to wrap up the two game homestand vs. Union College. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:05pm and can be streamed on ESPN+.
