HARTFORD, Conn. - The UConn Huskies wrapped up a two-game series against Union College with a thrilling Overtime victory to move the Huskies to 4-0-0 on the season. UConn sophomore Chase Bradley finished with one assist in addition to scoring the game winner.

UConn moves to 4-0-0 on the season, the first time the Huskies have started 4-0-0 since the 1975-76 season.

The Huskies were battle tested today as Union would score the first goal of the game and head into the first period break with the 1-0 lead. The Dutchmen would outshoot the Huskies in the first period 12-10 and would win the faceoff battle 11-8.

To start the second period, UConn would head to the penalty kill shortly into the period. UConn's penalty kill which has yet to surrender a goal continued to impress on Saturday. While on the penalty kill, senior Jake Flynn would make a great play in the Huskies defensive zone to steal the puck and go on the counterattack. While on the counter, Flynn would find Ryan Tverberg who would take the puck and use his speed to create a two on one opportunity for the Huskies. Tverberg would take the puck towards the net and find senior Jake Flynn who would score the shorthanded goal off the one timer to tie the game. Later in the period following a Union Penalty, Ty Amonte would find Chase Bradley in front of the net who would then find Nick Capone across the crease for the goal. Union would answer with a goal of their own late in the second period as both teams would head into the break tied at two.

Union would use the momentum gained from their late second period goal, and score just 48 seconds into the third period. UConn would not fold as they would continue to press the Union defense and look for their opportunity. The Huskies opportunity would come when a John Spetz shot would deflect off the goaltender right to freshman Jake Percival for the tip in. Both teams would look to break the tie in the third period but would be unsuccessful as the game would head into overtime.

In Overtime, UConn would instantly go on the attack. The Huskies would win the faceoff and instantly go on the attack with Ryan Tverberg handling the puck. Tverberg nearly ended the game seconds into overtime on a wraparound, but the Union goalkeeper would make a kick save to deny the attempt. The Huskies would then send out a trio of Chase Bradley, Matthew Wood, and John Spetz. Wood would circle the puck, drop it off to Bradley and following an impressive toe drag, would fire the shot right past the goaltender for the OT winner.
