BOSTON- Paced by a three-point outing from graduate student Chloé Aurard, the No. 3 Northeastern women's hockey team defeated the Merrimack Warriors, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at Matthews Arena.

- Junior Molly Griffin tallied her first goal of the year to put the Huskies (6-0-0, 4-0-0 HEA) up 1-0 in the first period. Griffin's goal was assisted by junior Abbey Marohn and freshman Lily Shannon.

- Marohn went on to tally her first career goal at the 15:23 mark of the second period. Marohn's goal counted as the game-winner and was assisted by Aurard and senior Megan Carter.

- Northeastern went on to tally two more goals in the third with graduate student Alina Mueller and Aurard each scoring. Graduate student Maureen Murphy posted an assist on both goals, while freshman Kristina Allard tallied an assisted on Aurard's goal.

- Merrimack (1-5-0, 0-4-0 HEA) got its lone goal of the series at the 17:00 minute mark in the third period to bring the final score to 4-1.

- Senior netminder Gwyneth Philips finished with 16 saves in her sixth win of the season.

Northeastern will next travel to Maine for a two-game series beginning on Friday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m.
