- Providence struck for three goals in the opening period to take a 3-0 into the locker room after 20 minutes.

- Chase Yoder got things going with his second of the season and second-career shorthanded goal after picking off a drop pass at the UMass blue line and beating Brady to the backhand.

- Riley Duran netted his fifth goal of the season on the power play at 11:50 to make it 2-0 Providence.

- Brett Berard got on the board with his first tally of the year at 13:01 as he re-directed a point shot from Max Crozier.

- Berard cashed in just 57 seconds into the second period as he beat Luke Pavicich to the short side, who came in on relief for Cole Brady.

- Tyson Dyck got the Minutemen on the board at 2:11 to make it 4-1.

- Duran scored his second power-goal goal of the evening after he tipped home Guillaume Richard's shot from the point to make it 5-1.
