CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - No. 19 Notre Dame scored the final four goals of the game in a 5-2 non-conference victory over Boston College on Friday afternoon at Kelley Rink in the 48th meeting of the all-time series.

Tyler Carpenter scored a pair of goals in the win for the Fighting Irish (7-7-2, 3-4-1 BIG TEN). The Eagles dropped to 4-5-2 (4-3-1 HEA) and had their three-game unbeaten streak snapped.

Irish captain Nick Leivermann opened the scoring for the visitors at 12:46 of the first period when he finished a one-timer from the right wing off a cross-ice feed from Chase Blackmun.

In the final 20 seconds of the opening frame, Andre Gasseau won the puck back in the right corner and fed a pass to the slot for Trevor Kuntar, who ripped a shot top shelf to beat Ryan Bischel off the back bar.

BC took its first lead just 1:07 into the second period when Nikita Nesterenko slipped a pass to Eamon Powell on the left doorstep and the junior finished low inside the right post. Colby Ambrosio picked up the second assist on the play.

A Carpenter one-timer from the slot beat Mitch Benson blocker side 1:15 later to knot the score at two apiece.

The Irish restored its lead late in the second period when Jesse Lansdell deflected a left point shot from the top of the faceoff circle inside the right post at 18:39.

Carpenter added his second of the afternoon with 9:35 remaining in regulation. Lansdell deked into the left wing circle to fire a shot on target, and Carpenter whacked home the rebound from the edge of the crease on his backhand.

Ben Brinkman scored an empty-netter from his defensive zone with 1:55 left in regulation.

The Eagles won the faceoff battle 43-28. BC killed off all four Notre Dame power plays, extending its streak of consecutive kills to 15 in a row.
