DURHAM, N.H. - Arizona State goaltender T.J. Semptimphelter recorded 41 saves as the University of New Hampshire's men hockey team fell to ASU, 4-1, on Friday night at the Whittemore Center Arena.  

The Wildcats fall to 3-14-1, while the Sun Devils improve to 9-9-0.

The Wildcats return to action when they play Arizona State on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. at the Whittemore Center on ESPN+. The game is presented by Mass General Brigham/Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and will feature a Teddy Bear Toss presented by East Coast Lumber. There will also be an autograph session after the game on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- At 5:22 of the first period and on a power play, the Sun Devils took the 1-0 lead after Matthew Kopperud fired a one-timer sticking it in the bottom glove side of the net. Robert Mastrosimone and Josh Doan tallied an assist on the goal.

- At 7:44 of the third period, Jack Judson ripped a shot burying the puck glove side making it a 2-0 score.

- At 10:18 of the third period, the Wildcats cut the ASU lead to 2-1 when sophomore defenseman Alex Gagne (Bedford, N.H) sent a pass to junior forward Nick Cafarelli (Middleton, Mass.) who then tipped the puck stick side into the net. Senior forward Harrison Blaisdell (Regina, Saskatchewan) also posted an assist on the goal.

- At 15:06 of the third period the Sun Devils increased their lead to 3-1 when Josh Doan scored a shorthanded goal.

- Then at 19:37 of the third period the Sun Devils made it a 4-1 final when Lukas Sillinger scored an empty net goal.

- Senior goaltender David Fessenden (Parker, Colo.) recorded 22 saves, while Semptimphelter had 41 to secure the win.

- UNH outshot Arizona State, 42-26
