BOSTON, Mass. - A fourth-line grind gave the #20 Huskies a 2-1 victory over Boston College for their fifth straight win.
- The Huskies got off to a solid start with sophomore Matt Choupani scoring off a rebound at the 4:13 mark in the first period. Graduate student Liam Walsh and freshman Hunter McDonald earned assists on the tally.
- Within the opening minutes of the middle frame, the Eagles were able to tie the game up, 1-1.
- Wasting no time in the third period, graduate student Jakov Novak, with poise, put Northeastern up 2-1. Junior Michael Outzen stole the puck at the blueline to find Novak, who won a two-on-one for the tally. Also adding a helper was senior Jeremie Bucheler, playing in his 100th career game.
- Netminder Devon Levi finished the night with 29 saves for his 13th win of the season.
- Senior Tyler Spott led the team with four blocks and Justin Hryckowian tallied 13 faceoff wins to lead both teams.
Northeastern is in for a quick turn around this week as they prepare for a battle with #14 UConn this Friday (Feb. 3) at Matthews Arena.
