BOSTON, Mass. - The UConn Huskies took down Northeastern University 4-3 in overtime. Jake Flynn and Matthew Wood scored while Hudson Schandor scored two goals including the overtime winner with 16 seconds left.

Northeastern jumped out to an early lead as Sam Colangelo collected the puck following a UConn turnover and fired it past sophomore goaltender Logan Terness. Northeastern added another midway through the period. UConn's defense continued to be tested throughout the first period but did not surrender another goal as they entered the period break trailing by two goals.

UConn got on the board early in the second period as senior Jake Flynn threw the puck towards the net which found its way past Levi for the goal. UConn's penalty kill saw a lot of minutes in the second period as UConn had three penalties called against them in the period. UConn found the equalizer late in the second period while on the power play. With the man advantage, Matthew Wood fired a shot that rang off the post and bounced right to Hudson Schandor who tipped it past Devon Levi.

UConn wasted no time to start the third period as the Huskies took control of the puck and instantly pressured Devon Levi and the Northeastern defense. UConn eventually found the back of the net as Matthew Wood was in the right place at the right time to tip in the goal. Northeastern found the equalizer late in the third period as Justin Hryckowian was left alone in front of the net to score on the rebound. With neither team able to score the game winning goal in regulation, the game would head to a sudden death overtime.

In overtime both teams had their opportunities, but Devon Levi and Logan Terness made timely saves to keep the game tied. With time running down, Hudson Schandor found the loose puck in front of the net and sunk the overtime winner with 16 seconds left in the period.

Logan Terness finished with 36 saves in the win to help the Huskies improve to 17-8-3 overall and 11-6-2 in Hockey East action.
