STORRS, Conn. - The UConn Huskies dominated the New Hampshire Wildcats Saturday afternoon at the Toscano Family Ice Forum by a final of 6-1. Ryan Tverberg finished with two goals while Jake Flynn scored on goal and added two assists.

With the win, UConn improved to 19-10-3 on the year and 12-8-2 in conference action, retaking control of 4th place in the Hockey East Standings. Freshman Arsenii Sergeev was dominant as he made 29 saves while only allowing one goal.

UConn wasted no time Saturday afternoon as Ryan Tverberg turned on the jets and kicked off the scoring for the Huskies only 38 seconds into the start of the game. UConn did not stop there as Ryan Tverberg once again took on the New Hampshire defense and came away with a goal, his second of the night. The UConn defense refused to let the Wildcats offense get going as they limited New Hampshire's chances and blanked them in the period. With time running down in the first period freshman Tabor Heaslip found freshman Tristan Fraser for a one timer with 8 seconds remaining in the period. With the goal, UConn capped off a strong first period and entered the period break leading by three goals.

A three goal lead was all that freshman Arsenii Sergeev and the UConn defense needed as they continued to shut down the Wildcats offensive attack. Sergeev finished with 12 saves in the second period and once again held New Hampshire scoreless.

New Hampshire's offense would not be shutout as Liam Devlin got the Wildcats on the board only three minutes into the start of the period. UConn would not surrender another goal, and respond with three unanswered goals scored by Jake Flynn, Samu Salminen and Jake Veilleux to close out the game and come away with a 6-1 victory.

The Huskies as well as other teams across Hockey East will continue to scoreboard watch as the standings become even tighter after this afternoons contest. UConn currently holds the fourth seed, sitting two points above UMass Lowell, and five points behind Northeastern for the three seed.
