Box Score - Highlights

BOSTON - Sophomore Ryan Greene scored the final two goals of the game to help the No. 5 Boston University men's ice hockey team rally from a 2-0 third-period deficit to defeat No. 3 Quinnipiac, 3-2, on Wednesday night at Agganis Arena.

BU (9-3-1) trailed reigning national champion Quinnipiac (9-4-1) by two goals with 15:10 remaining in regulation, but the Terriers stormed back with the final three goals of the contest. Greene assisted on classmate Jeremy Wilmer's first goal of the season that got BU on the board at 7:48 of the third before scoring twice in a span of 2:43 to give the Terriers the lead with 1:51 on the clock.

Sophomore Lane Hutson had two assists while Wilmer finished with two points thanks to his helper on the tying goal. The entire sophomore class got in on the scoring, as Quinn Hutson and Devin Kaplan each added one assist apiece. Junior goaltender Mathieu Caron was fantastic for the Terriers, making 27 saves, including 12 in the third period.

The Terriers went 4-0-0 on their homestand to extend their win streak to five games. They became the first team to defeat Quinnipiac in regulation, as well as the first team to erase a two-goal deficit against the Bobcats, since Colgate rallied for a 3-2 win on Jan. 21, 2023.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Terrier penalty kill was sharp early, holding the Bobcat power play without a goal on two early opportunities.

- Both Caron and former Terrier Vinny Duplessis (25 saves) were fantastic through the first 40 minutes, with Caron in particular making several highlight-reel stops to keep the Bobcats scoreless.

- Quinnipiac finally broke through at 2:36 of the third period before an extremely lucky bounce resulted in the Bobcats' second goal 2:14 later.

- Wilmer got BU within one at the 7:48 mark. After some terrific passing between all five players on the ice, Hutson sent the puck towards goal and Wilmer deftly redirected it past Duplessis.

- Greene then evened the score with 4:34 to play. Kaplan fired a shot from the right circle that Duplessis blocked aside. The rebound popped back to Kaplan and he quickly dished to Greene at the bottom of the left circle for a one-timer that beat Duplessis.

- Quinnipiac was whistled for a blatant interference penalty with 2:51 to play and Greene capitalized exactly a minute later when his wrist shot from the top of the circles sailed through a screen and into the back of the net.

- The Bobcats pulled Duplessis for an extra attacker with 27 seconds left, but the Terriers held on for the victory.
