Northeastern Falls to Wisconsin, 3-0, in Holiday Face-Off

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Northeastern men's hockey team fell to the University of Wisconsin Badgers, 3-0, on Friday evening in the championship game of the 2023 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off.

- The Badgers took a 1-0 lead in the first period after scoring 12:13 into the contest. Wisconsin then doubled its lead in the second period with an extra-attacker tally at the 5:49 mark.

- Wisconsin closed out the game with 3:28 remaining to bring the final score to 3-0.

- Junior Matt Choupani and sophomores Vinny Borgesi and Hunter McDonald led all Northeastern skaters with three shots each. Captain Justin Hryckowian led both teams with 16 faceoff wins.

- Freshman netminder Cameron Whitehead posted a tournament-high 35 saves for the Huskies in net.

Northeastern will open the new year with a home contest against Quinnipiac on Saturday, Jan. 6. The Alumni Day game will begin at 5 p.m. ET.
