ORONO, Maine - Led by two goals from senior Alex Campbell, the Northeastern men's hockey team shutout No. 9 Maine, 4-0, to split the weekend series and pick up their fifth win against a Top-10 opponent this season.

- NU was able to earn the game's first power play and in fashion capitalized for the game's first goal. With 8:35 gone in the contest, sophomores Cam Lund and Jack Williams connected cross ice in their offensive zone. Lund found the stick of junior Justin Hryckowian who patiently pulled the puck to his backhand for a 1-0 lead.

- The Huskies maintained momentum as they went on to score three unanswered goals in the second period, beginning with back-to-back tallies from forward Alex Campbell. For his first of the night, Campbell danced his way through the Maine defensemen for a quick shot in the slot. Freshman Dylan Hryckowian and graduate student Pito Walton collected the helpers.

- Extending their lead to 3-0, Justin Hryckowian came out for a sliding takeaway in the defensive zone that led to a breakaway bury for Campbell. The duo has now connected for a goal nine times this season.

- In the final five minutes of the middle frame, graduate student Brett Edwards scored his fifth goal of the year as he collected freshman Billy Norcross' rebound in front of the crease. Graduate student Matt DeMelis recorded the secondary on NU's fourth and final goal of the game.

- Picking up his third shutout of the year, and his career, freshman goaltender Cameron Whitehead tallied 39 saves. In his last three outings, the Ontario native has collected 30+ saves.

- Sophomore Jack Williams led both teams with 13 faceoff wins, while Walton and sophomore Jackson Dorrington each tallied four blocks.

Northeastern will take on the UConn Huskies next weekend in their last home-and-home series of the season. During Friday night's home contest, NU will honor the ten graduating seniors of the 2024 class.
