Sedona Blair Pitches Third Consecutive Shutout for UNH

HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES

Goaltending around the league was on display last weekend, as five different netminders posted blank sheets, led by a pair of perfect games by New Hampshire rookie Sedona Blair. Blair stopped all 44 shots she saw to pick up a pair of 1-0 victories, extending her shutout streak to 180:04 and three consecutive shutouts.

Maine freshman Julia Bachetti added two wins to her ledger, including a 29-save shutout of Holy Cross and a 3-2 victory over No. 13 Vermont. She made 58 saves in her two outings and backboned the Black Bears to fifth place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.

Holy Cross’s Brooke Loranger stopped 19 shots to earn her first career victory in the Crusaders’ 5-0 win over Assumption on Tuesday. Millie Sirum had a goal and an assist in the victory.

Boston College’s Grace Campbell led the league with 61 saves in a 1-0-1 weekend, helping the Eagles back into a tie for first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings with UConn.

Gwyneth Philips picked up her second consecutive Stop It Goalten- der of the Week award after claiming two wins in league play. She kicked out 26 shots in both games she started, including a 4-2 win over Providence in a rematch of the 2023 Hockey East Championship game.

Boston University and Providence ended a 3-3 draw on Saturday with the longest shootout in league history, going 10 rounds before Kayla Kutes delivered the Friars an extra point in league play.

Sedona Blair - New Hampshire

Sedona Blair (Fr., G; Eden Prairie, Minn.) remained perfect for the third straight game, recording two shutouts to lead UNH to a 1-0 win against both Holy Cross and 13th-ranked Vermont. Blair recorded her second and third consecutive shutouts to extend her shutout streak to 180 minutes, 4 seconds. Blair made 19 saves, including three on three Holy Cross power plays, to keep the Crusaders scoreless. She followed that with 25 saves, including six on four UVM power plays, to blank the Catamounts.

Julia Bachetti - Maine

Julia Bachetti (Fr., G; Tecumsah, Ont.) earned two wins, including over No. 13 Vermont, to lift the Black Bears into fifth place in the Army ROTC Hockey East. She picked up a 29-save shutout over Holy Cross and made 58 saves on the weekend. She currently sits fourth in Hockey East with a .935 save percentage, the best among league rookies. Her overall .925 is third in the nation among rookie goaltenders.

Grace Campbell - Boston College

Grace Campbell (So., G; Kensington, Md.) led Hockey East with 61 saves in an undefeated weekend on the road in league play and allowed just three goals. She posted a 1.44 goals against average and a .953 save percentage. Her efforts against UConn lifted the Eagles back into a tie for first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.

Gwyneth Philips - Northeastern

Gwyneth Philips (Gr., G; Athens, Ohio) made 52 saves over two victories over Boston University and Providence. Philips posted a .945 save percentage and 1.45 GAA over the two games.


HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS

Sammy Smigliani, BC (Gr., F; La Jolla, Calif.) Scored three goals and added an assist for a four-point series to help Boston College to a 1-0-1 weekend.

Sammy Taber, BC (Fr., F; Tewksbury, Mass.) Handed out four assists in a two-game set, bringing her season total to a Hockey East-best 11 in league play.

Caroline Goffredo, BC (Sr., F; Mount Laurel, N.J.) Racked up five points in a 1-0-1 weekend, including a four-point night (2g, 2a) in a 5-1 win at Providence and added an assist in a 2-2 draw at UConn the next day.

Molly Jordan, BC (Fr., D; Berlin, Conn.) Had more blocks than any other player in Friday’s 5-1 win at Providence before securing an extra league point for the Eagles with a shootout goal in a 2-2 draw at UConn.

Rahel Enzler, Maine (Sr., F; Zug, Switzerland) Netted three goals on the weekend off five shots on goal, including two an the game-winning goal against No. 13 Vermont. Enzler was plus-four on the weekend and is currently on a four game point streak (3g, 3a).

Lily Fetch, Maine (Fr., F; Woodbury, Minn.) Dished out two assists and picked up a plus-one rating.

Jamie Grinder, Maine (Jr., D; Vancouver, B.C.) Picked up three points over the weekend on one goal and two assists to finish plus-three.

Calli Hogarth, MC (So., G; Barrie, Ont.) Made 35 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss to the first place UConn Huskies on Friday.

Hayley Chang, MC (Jr., D; Coquitlam, B.C.) Blocked two shots in Merrimack’s 2-1 loss to UConn on Friday.

Nicole Kelly, UNH (Sr., F; Brantford, Ont.) Scored with 2:07 remaining in regulation to lift UNH to a 1-0 victory against 13th-ranked Vermont on Dec. 2. Kelly’s other stats in the game included a blocked shot and a plus-one rating. She was credited with two blocked shots in UNH’s 1-0 win against Holy Cross. She also led all skaters in that game with nine faceoff wins (on a .750 winning percentage). For the week, Kelly recorded one point on a goal, blocked three shots, had a plus-one rating and 11 faceoff wins (.647 win percentage).

Marina Alvarez, UNH (Jr., D; Center Moriches, N.Y.) Recorded an assist on the game-winning goal in UNH’s 1-0 victory against 13th-ranked Vermont. Her other stats that game included a blocked shot, plus-one rating and one shot. With the assist, Alvarez moved into a tie for the team lead in assists this season with seven, and she climbed into a tie for second in points with 10.

Skylar Irving, NU (Jr., F; Kingston, Mass.) Tallied one goal and three assists to lead Northeastern to victories over Boston University and Providence College. Irving posted the game-winning overtime goal against BU and had three assists in a 4-2 win against the Friars. Her 17 points are second among all Hockey East players, while her 13 assists are a league- high.

Ella Blackmore, NU (Fr., F; Northville, Mich.) Scored the game-tying goal in the third period to help Northeastern to a 2-1 overtime victory over BU. Blackmore finished the two-game week with a plus-one rating.

Jules Constantinople, NU (So., D; East Haven, Conn.) Anchored a Husky defensive unit that posted two victories over league foes BU and PC. Constantinople tallied two assists against Providence, and posted three blocks over two games.

Grace Shirley, PC (Gr., F; Saskatoon, Sask.) Had two goals this weekend, the first being the Friars’ lone goal against BC and the second being the equalizer to send Providence into OT against BU on Saturday.

Brooke Becker, PC (Sr., D; Orchard Park, N.Y.) Had two assists this past weekend. Becker assisted the lone goal for Providence on Friday, then assisted Coene to a goal Saturday and had two blocks.
