DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire sophomore forward Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) scored a power play goal in the third period, but the Wildcats fell to the University of Connecticut Huskies by a final score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Wenczkowski was assisted by fellow sophomores Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) and Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) 13:52 into the third period on the power play, to give the Wildcats their first goal of the game.
A total of 17 penalties were called in the game; UNH was 1-6 on the power play, while killing off every UConn power play.
The Wildcats defeated the Huskies back in December by a score of 3-0; the Connecticut win puts the series even at 1-1-0.

GAME RECAP
- A broken play in the final 10 seconds of the first period resulted in a UConn goal with 0.08 seconds left on the clock. UConn led 1-0 after the first period; shots were even at five each.
- The Huskies struck again in the final minute of a period, scoring with 20 seconds remaining in the second period to lead 2-0.
- The Huskies led in shots in the second period, 17 shots to six.
- UConn scored early in the third, eight minutes into the period they led 3-0.
- UNH answered back with their power play goal 13:52 into the final period. Dunbar got the feed from Howran, took a shot, and the rebound found Wenczkowski, who buried the shot to put UNH on the board.
